The day after the Henna party Anika's family hosted the Religious ceremony at their home. This started at 9.30am but when I arrived at 8.15 as the household were getting breakfast, getting ready and waiting for the priest to arrive. I hadn't seen Anika and wouldn't until the ceremony began so after saying hello to everyone I saw the evening before I set myself up in their lounge (it was big!) where the ceremony was going to be performed.

I met the Smith Family for their portrait shoot on location in Berkshire and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect! The sun was low in the sky (it was an early morning shoot) creating a lovely golden glow and there was frost on the ground. Paul and Lucy had two lovely children who were wrapped up warmer than me – sensible kids…! At the beginning, Ellie wasn’t 100% sure of the shoot and took a little persuading (after finding the frosty leaves!) to look at me with the camera but when she did she lit up the frame!
