Dan and I photographed the wedding of the lovely Alex and Rachael in the last week of May. They both met a few years ago when Rachael came over from Canada to work and as they say….the rest is history! I met a very smiley Rachael at Stirrups Hotel near Bracknell where she and her three Bridesmaids were getting ready. There was laughter, suitcases, dresses and bubbly as well as the occasional floss dance! Dan during this time was with Alex over in Ascot capturing all the detail shots as the guys were getting ready.
We met at St Frances Church in Ascot for a beautiful ceremony which included hymns, readings and the lighting of Alex and Rachael’s wedding candle. It was a lovely service which lots of smiling and some lovely messages too. After a confetti shot we then headed to South Hill Park for the wedding reception.
As guests arrived they were greeted with drinks which was very much appreciated as the weather was hot and sunny. South Hill Park is a beautiful 18th century mansion house in Bracknell surrounded by stunning grounds, a woodland walk, a lake and an Italian garden so we had plenty of opportunities when it came to Alex and Rachael’s couple shots. We let the couple have some time with their guests while we captured the important detail shots of the wedding breakfast room before calling everyone for the group shots.
After the groups we made our way around the grounds for some couple shots before heading back for the entrance into their wedding breakfast. The sun was lovely – although a little too lovely for photographs so I decided the light would be better later on in the evening with less harsh shadows so we had planned to go out after the meal to take the remaining shots.
Once the meal had finished and the four of us had been out for some further couple shots (hats off to Dan who did an amazing job assisting me) the speeches began. There was four in total which we captured ending with one of Rachael’s closest friends from Canada delivering a heartwarming speech. We then finished the night with the first dance leaving the Bride and Groom to enjoy time with their guests.
Thank you for such an amazing day, here is a selection of images.
Love Lauren and Dan x
