I met Andrew and Georgina on a lovely warm summer’s evening at the beautiful Elvetham Hotel just outside Hook in Hampshire. The Elvetham is an elegant countryside house hotel set in over 35 acres of landscaped grounds. The building itself from the outside is like a work of art with 19th century architecture and theres even connections to royalty. It is well worth a visit if you are in the area or looking for a wedding venue.
Andrew and Georgina had planned to get married at The Elvetham in early September this year but like most couples due to restrictions with Covid19 on weddings had decided to move their wedding to 2021. They still wanted something from this year so we decided to go ahead with their pre-wedding shoot. They couldn’t have chosen a better evening. We met just outside the hotel and after catching up on plans, work and general ‘lockdown’ life (all social distancing of course!) we decided to start at the front of the hotel and then work our way around the back where the sun was setting beautifully.
Andrew and Georgina were looking for natural and relaxed shots which is why they wanted me as their wedding photographer. I started with some walking shots with The Elvetham in the background. This always relaxes couples while giving them some tips on arm and feet placement to make them feel confident…..because let’s face it, not everyone loves having their photograph taken! It is my job to put these worries aside.
As we had the luxury of time we spent an hour taking images in various areas of the grounds finishing at the iconic row of trees which The Elvetham is known for. We had timed their pre-wedding shoot with golden hour where the sun is a lovely golden colour and produces the most fantastic light. It didn’t disappoint and we were able to capture some fantastic photographs for them.
Below is a selection of images from their shoot. Looking forward to their wedding next year. Many thanks to The Elvetham for letting us use the grounds.
