Leading up to Sarah and Michelle’s wedding, it was a bit of ‘will it happen, won’t it happen’ as the Covid rules on weddings felt like they were changing weekly! The latest ruling was a maximum of 30 people so they had cut down their wedding to suit. Then a week up to the wedding the government announced this was cutting back to 15 people! Luckily, this wasn’t coming into effect until the following week but I did feel for all the couples who were now having to make the heard breaking decision to rearrange their wedding again or strip back numbers.
The morning finally came (yay!) and we were at a new venue for us – Barnett Hill Hotel in the hills of Surrey. It’s a stunning venue with lots of photographic opportunities within the grounds. Sarah and Michelle were both getting ready on site so we captured all the morning fun before entering the ceremony room. It was lovely to see their guests and they were just so happy to be getting married. As they were saying their vows they couldn’t stop smiling. After the ceremony, the wedding party ventured outside for some drinks while Emma and I captured candid moments. I love this part as I can people watch and capture those precious moments never to be repeated – it’s great fun! We then gathered everyone for some group shots before taking Sarah and Michelle around the grounds for their couple shots. It was a lovely hot day so I knew the sun later was going to be magical so we agreed to pop out in-between their meal to capture some golden hour shots. It also gave the happy couple some time to themselves to talk about their magical day.
Sarah had arranged a marquee outside with a band so we photographed their first dance and then a sparkler exit. I’m so glad their wedding was able to go ahead – to be honest, they were both determined that it would! Go girls!
It was an amazing day and I’m so happy to have been apart of it. Below is a selection of images.
