It was a week of pre-wedding shoots for me and today I had the pleasure of seeing Simon and Sally for their shoot. They live in Bracknell so what better place to go to for some photographs than Swinley Forest. It was a lovely summers evening – the heat was there and we had timed the shoot so that we could be high up and maximise the sunset. Everyone loves a good sunset and this one didn’t disappoint!
Both were naturals in front of the camera and played off each other which is exactly what I was looking for. Apart from a few prompts from me they took it in their stride. Some of the mountain bikers even stopped to admire the photographs. I always try and test something new out on a pre-wedding shoot as it helps to keep things creative and it means I can test out new techniques which I can use on their wedding day. It is always a good idea to test new ideas out first rather than during a wedding where you get one chance!
We had the luxury of time as we were photographing their pre-wedding shoot ahead of their wedding next year which I encourage all couples to do. This gives them some lovely couple shots straightaway which they can share with friends and family. Simon and Sally had to rearrange their wedding date due to Covid19 but it will be amazing and I’m really looking forward to it.
We probably would have photographed for longer but the light was fading and we had to walk down through the forest back to the cars. I didn’t want to have front page news ‘Photographer loses wedding couple during pre-wedding shoot’ so it was best we left when we did!
I’m delighted with the images and in Sally’s words when she received them ‘They are INCREDIBLE!’ – Yay….cannot wait until their wedding day in 2021.
Below is a selection of images.
