I was really looking forward to Simon and Sally’s wedding at The Crown Inn in Pishill, Berkshire for some time now. I just loved their energy and warmth as soon as I met them….(yes I actually met them in person before covid rather than via video!) and knew I wanted to photograph their wedding. After rearranging a few times due to the restrictions they had settled on an April date.
They had decided to dress in their house together rather than separately which was actually awesome and made the morning even more special and before we knew it, it was time to see each other outside for a ‘first look’. Their reactions were priceless! After this we ventured out to see friends and family outside waiting for him with Prosecco and streamers, another nice touch! After this they ran through a tunnel of streamers to the car that was waiting to take them to The Crown Inn.
When we arrived we were greeted by their parents. They were so happy to see them both and of course see what they were wearing! The ceremony was filled with excitement and smiles…..even I was smiling behind my camera the whole time. I don’t think I’ve ever seen two people so excited that this day had finally arrived. Once out in the sunshine (thank you April for no showers!) they sat around a table and had some light bites and more champagne. There was some thing so informal and personal about it that made it amazing, especially with the warm sunshine coming down. It was simply perfect!
I took Simon and Sally away for some couple shots before they all headed back to Stirrups Hotel in Bracknell for a meal outside. I did get to take them around the back of Stirrups for a few more couple shots before they sat down – the light was amazing, so I just had too!
I’ve realised that the smaller micro weddings I am photographing at the moment are just as powerful and emotional as the traditional larger ones we are all familiar with. I’ve certainly learnt that it doesn’t matter on the party size, just as long as you have the people there that mean the most.
Wishing you guys the very best!
