You know when you meet two people and you think…’yes!’….we connect, we can have a laugh within the first minute of meeting and I want to photograph your wedding! Well that is exactly what happened at a wedding fair I was exhibiting at when Martin and Siobhan came over to see me at my stand.
I remember chatting for a while and they spoke about how they wanted natural images which someone who they really got on with….it was just finding the right person :). After popping over to their home a few weeks later to talk about their day – the rest is history! On the day Emma and I were with Siobhan, her mum and bridesmaids photographing the bridal preparations. Siobhan was having a great time and so she should! She was so full of excitement and couldn’t wait to marry Martin.
The ceremony was beautiful. They both cried (happy tears!) and laughed lots. It was a special time and Emma and I were honoured to have been asked to capture it. After the ceremony everyone headed outside for canapés and drinks before we called for the group shots. As a photographer not only is it about taking photographs but it is also about understanding when people need a break from being in-front of the camera and then adapting to this so you don’t miss anything. I could tell the happy couple just needed 5 minutes or so so we decided to take most of their couple shots inbetween courses during the meal.
The speeches were emotional and funny – Martin I’ve never seen someone in so many fancy dress outfits before! After taking some sunset shots we left the happy couple to enjoy the rest of their evening.
Many thanks for all the laughs,
Love Lauren and Emma x
