I had the pleasure this month of joining some amazing people for John Lewis’ annual Roofraisers event which celebrates their Partners who go above and beyond in their day to day roles striving to make a difference for customers and their business. The event was held at their private club – Odney in Cookham which backs onto the river Thames. There were Partners there from literally every corner of the UK – I think the furthest was Aberdeen! Sixty-six Partners had been nominated by their colleagues and all attended with their ‘plus ones’. The Odney club was decorated in a woodland theme with flowers and trees from Longstock and Leckford. It looked like a woodland set – so much hard work had gone into producing an amazing evening.
Paula Nickolds, Managing Director of John Lewis was there to celebrate with the finalists and throughout the evening chatted to all the Partners about their achievements. The evening started with some drinks and a live jazz band followed by dinner in the room main before the main 12 finalists were whittled down to the runners-up and then the all important unveiling of the ‘Ultimate Roofraiser!’ This years Ultimate Roofraiser had worked hard creating customer experiences and exclusive shopping events in her branch for the Women’s Institute. Her idea has also inspired other branches to run similar events around the country.
It was an amazing experience and a delight to photograph a great company celebrating their Partners achievements. Well done everyone and to the team of people behind the scenes who worked so hard to put on such a fabulous event for all.
