Location: Frensham, Surrey UK
I was lucky enough to photograph a lovely couple, their two dogs and their Land Rover Defender at the weekend. Having an interest in 4x4s from my childhood days thanks to my Dad I was really excited to be able to photograph one that was 30+ years old but that has been lovingly restored to an amazing condition by Ollie….. I think even Vicky referred to it as the ‘wife’!
Before the shoot our first challenge was finding a location where we could take the Land Rover off road to be photographed and after a few email exchanges we settled on a beautiful place in Frensham, Surrey. I was focused on a rugged type of shoot in terms of style which would compliment the Land Rover image so finding the right landscape was key. On the day we had an amazing time – the dogs were so well behaved – ever seen a dog smile infront of the camera? Well I have now! It was lovely to spend time with such a down-to-earth couple who were at ease in front of the camera and were not afraid to try any my crazy ideas! It had been raining the day before so we even had some action shots of the Land Rover going through water – Ollie was happy!
For all those photographer enthusiasts I used a lot of off camera flash using Canon speedlites and some reflector. – this worked so well especially for the shots inside the Land Rover and using it as a fill-in.
Here’s a selection of images from the day…. enjoy!
