Today was the wedding of Paul and Carly. I had met them back in 2018 at a wedding showcase evening at Marwell Hotel and we hit it off straight away. I also found out they loved Cornwall (which is amazing!) so I was destined to shot their wedding! Elise and I arrived at Carly’s parent’s house and it was just ‘wow!’ It reminded it of a beach hut, but it was house! It was just amazing and decorated so well. You could tell they had put their heart and soul into it. Carly and her bridesmaids were relaxed if not a little nervous when we arrived so we starting shooting the important detail shots of the dress, flowers, perfume etc. before Carly started having her hair and make-up done with a glass of bubbles.
The VW camper van arrived (cool!) to pick up Carly so I headed out to take some shots of this before Carly wanted some family shots in front it. We then took individual shots of Carly, her bridesmaids and her 2 flower girls before heading off to Marwell to meet Paul. Paul was inside when we met him surrounded by his Bestman and friends. He was soon directed into the ceremony room as Carly arrived therefore I stayed with Paul and Elise met Carly outside. The ceremony was lovely and we were both able to capture shots of their smiles and laughter as they exchanged rings and said their vows. Cute!
After the ceremony the wedding party headed out for some group shots and we took Paul and Carly away from the hustle and bustle for some couple shots. They had asked for really natural shots so I made sure we captured plenty of these, as well as a couple of more posed shots. We headed into the wedding breakfast and captured the speeches. At this point I set up for the first dance. They played the game ‘Mr and Mrs’ with Dean John the DJ (very fun!) before moving onto their first dance.
We left the couple and their wedding party to dance the night away!
Congratulations to both of you and thank you for asking us to be part of your special day. Below is a selection of images from the day.
Love, Lauren and Elise x
