Date: 5th April 2019
Season: Spring
Photographer: Lauren Mitchell Photography
Venue: Cain Manor, near Farnham, Surrey
Emma and I were at Cain Manor near Farnham for Ryan and Holly’s wedding. We had been praying the night before for dry weather as the days leading up to their wedding were pretty damp and although it did rain a little in the morning our prayers were answered. We started capturing Holly’s preparations in the beautiful bridal room at Cain Manor. After photographing the detail shots such as Holly’s flowers, dress, shoes, earrings and lovely Jo Malone perfume we headed over to the stable rooms where Ryan and his Bestman Otis were getting ready.
Ryan didn’t look nervous at all. After making sure I had portrait shots of both of them we headed into the ceremony room as guests had started to arrive. The ceremony was beautiful and Holly’s looked amazing and so happy as her Dad walked her down the aisle. The ceremony was full of laughter, smiles, happy tears, love and of course the exchanging of rings!
Everything was running on time so the happy couple spent time with their guests while we captured candid shots before we called for the group shots. Thank you to everyone for making the group shots so fun and we finished these in good time to begin Ryan and Holly’s couple shots. I had already been around the venue in the morning to scout out some great places to shoot so we started at the front of Cain Manor with Ryan’s grandad’s Rolls Royce before heading into the beautiful gardens around the back. I honestly believe this is where the couple find the pre-wedding shoot so important as they are already relaxed around the camera and less conscious of posing because they know they will look fabulous. After 20 minutes or so it was time for the Wedding Breakfast where they were greeted by their wedding party.
While the guests were enjoying their starters Emma and I could hear the 3 singing waiters warming up ready for their surprise act! The couple had arranged for them to burst into their wedding breakfast after the mains and boy! they were amazing. They covered tracks from all ages, mostly modern ones, interacted with the guests and at the end had everyone on their feet. It was a truly amazing experience and I’m so glad I was there to photograph it. Following this were the speeches and all three guys did a fabulous job – Otis…..well done for keeping under 9 minutes!
After the tables had been cleared and the evening guests had started to arrive….it was time for the first dance! Ryan and Holly gestured for everyone to join them on the dance floor. This is a great time for photographs and capturing the atmosphere. After saying our ‘goodbyes’ we then left the happy couple and their guests to ‘party-on!’ and enjoy the rest of their evening.
Below is a selection of images from their day.
Much love,
Lauren and Emma x
