Wow, what can I say. It was an honour and a privilege to see two friends get married and photograph their special day. Emma and I arrived at Harriets parent’s house as the hair and make-up team was just starting. There was a sense of excitement, not because it was going to be the hottest day of the year so far (!) but because Harriet and Will were getting married! We captured Harriet’s bridal details including the dress, shoes and perfume before spending some time with her and her family as the hair and make-up team led by CJ worked their magic.
We then headed to Will and Harriet’s home where Will was a little nervous but enjoying his morning. We captured him getting ready and opening his present from Harriet, an antique pocket watch – which he loved and wore. We were then back in the car back to Harriet so we could capture the moment she was getting into her dress. Emma and I then headed over to the church in Hartley Wintney.
The ceremony was lovely and you could tell it meant a great deal to both of them. After hymns, readings, the vows, exchanging of rings and the all important kiss! we moved over to the common opposite the church for the confetti shot. Will and Harriet were keen to get back to the wedding reception held at Bonhams Barn in Alton as they had spent so much time there with friends and family getting it ready for their big day. To be honest, they didn’t disappoint – the barn and it’s grounds looked stunning – they had thought of everything.
After the group shots and some couple shots it was time for the wedding breakfast and Will and Harriet entered to cheers and applause. The speeches were just priceless…Harriet, I never knew your driving was so bad! After the speeches we took Will and Harriet out for a few more couple shots as the light settled down for the evening before we all headed back to the barn.
We left the very happy couple to enjoy their warm evening. Thank you so much – the day was amazing. Below are some photographs capturing those special moments.
